Her role as Ishika in the film got her an IIFA award as the best debut. Shamita Shetty is born to a Tamil family from Mangalore. Her mother Sunanda Shetty and father Surendra Shetty are both manufacturers of water caps in pharmaceutical industry. She is famous for being the sister of Shilpa Shetty in the industry.
Shamita made her debut with film Mohabbatein in 2000.
