Sridevi is an Indian actress whose real name is Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan. She has worked in hundreds of Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam films. She started her career when she was four and made her debut in the 80s. Sridevi was born into a Telugu family in Tamil Nadu. Her father was a lawyer and her mother Rajeswari was a housemaker. She is considered the first female superstar of Bollywood.

Her film Chandni with actor Rishi Kapoorbrought her fame and was appreciated by many. It also got her a National Award and Best popular film for that year. Sridevi made her comeback with English Vinglish after almost 15 years, and the film received praises both in India and worldwide. In February 2018, Sridevi attended Boney Kapoor’s nephew wedding in Dubai, where she was found dead in a bathtub. Earlier it was said she died of cardiac arrest; however, according to forensic reports, Sridevi died of “accidental drowning“.
